HOW TO PICK A MODEL AS YOUR WIFE: Mail Order Bride Selection

I have ask LovedByHer.com not to give out my name because I’m currently in my selection process and begging your pardon would just as soon we weren’t fighting over the same women’s attentions.

Let me say that I served in the US Army and lived overseas so I have experienced the beauty of foreign women. These ladies are truely genuine. They support their husbands and take care of themselves. Unlike American women they are not trying to push a man down with women’s lib every time you ask your wife to get you a beer or iron a shirt. When a woman helps you 50/50 it is a pleasure to work 12 hour days. So convincing me that I should look for a mate in a foreign country was not a hard sale. I also looked at Chinese Mail Order Bride Women, Columbia Mail Order Bride Women and Phillipine Mail Order Bride Women. They just didn’t have the sleek beauty of a tall blonde Russian or Ukraine Woman. So for me LovedByHer.com was the logical choice.

Consequently, I decided to get a bride from LovedByHer.com and this is how I have decided to do it.

First, I think that a women with kids is my cup of tea. The reason is she knows responsibility and brings a certain level of maturity to the marriage. I don’t want to change diapers so a woman with real small children is not for me. (I would like to avoid diapers and the terrible two’s thank you very much).

Second, as a plain old working stiff I want a woman that can help “bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan” so somebody that can get a job because of either their education or work history is perfect. I gave some thought about skills which are probably transferable anywhere and I came up with a short list of programmer, nurse, teacher, marketing, medicine, hairdresser, engineer, fitness instructor, industrial manager, manager.

Third, I know some men want someone that can already speak English. I don’t really see that as a benefit. If she is willing to learn I think she can learn English fast enough in this country that excluding women that can’t speak English would be foolish.

Fourth, Beauty. I know that is shallow but I’m looking for a mail order bride that is gorgeous. Why marry a dog (so to speak) if I can go to Russia or the Ukraine and marry a hot russian woman?

I’m not a rocket scientist, lawyer, doctor or even a mechanic. I’m just an average worker plugging out a living in the heartland of America. My wife on the other hand looks like she stepped off the pages of Vogue she is so beautiful. More than once I have had other men pull me aside and tell me I married out of my league that she is so “hot” they don’t know how I landed her.

Here is my secret.

I was from an average family with average parents from a small city. I never really dated much but always wanted to marry a model. The local girls were average girls from average families and I wasn’t interested. Many people said I should just give up and marry the local girl like everybody else. I didn’t want to. Do Mail Order Brides need Driving Lessons? My Story

My Mail Order Bride is from the Ukraine. Thanks to Loved by her.com she will be immigrating to the USA in August.

The Ukraine is a country where automobiles are just starting to catch on despite people making salaries of $200 in the smaller towns to $1,000 in Kiev. There is a huge demand for automobiles in the Ukraine. Not the gas guzzlers that we American’s drive but the smaller cars (Chevy and Ford both produce a third world car which is quite small, very reliable and sells new for about 10K in most third world countries) that most other cultures drive.

However, despite that most people in the Ukraine do not own a car and can’t drive. Driving lessons can range from $200 to $500 and by Ukraine standards are quite pricey. This means that most drivers on the Ukraine roads have less than 10 years driving experience and road behavior shows it. Expect taxi’s to hurl down the road into virtual head on accidents only to swerve back, into traffic, seconds before exploding into a ball of flames. Expect cars to cut across three lanes of traffic to make a right hand turn and very little “in city” traffic enforcement.

This does not mean that drving lessons aren’t available and the law of the road aren’t published they just aren’t obeyed in a country short of police and heavy on inexperienced drivers.

Despite all this your Mail Order Bride is going to want to take driving lessons. Even if she does not have a car and doesn’t have a license she is going to want to take driving lessons if for no other reason than the status that driving lessons provides.

The question is should you pay for driving lessons while your fiancee is in the Ukraine or wait until she comes to the United States? The answer, in part, depends on how well she speaks AND UNDERSTANDS English. My mail order bride was schooled by one of the Ukraine’s finest Universities and can read perfect English. Her prounciation is perfect. Her understanding of what she read almost non-existent.

As such, if your mail order bride has good English reading and comprehension skills you may as well wait for drivers lessons so she can learn the American sign meanings (the USA has a few of the international signs but many of our road signs continue to require a reading of English).

Appostively, if she has little English skills have her take driving lessons in the Ukraine. That way she will already have some experience and competence behind the steering wheel of a car before getting to the USA. In addition, some states will give her a USA license based on her international and/or Ukraine license without having to take the driving part of the driving test (a big boon for a new driver).

Hope this helps. I promise that the experiences you get in the Ukraine (even if you dont find your second half like I did) will be one of the finest and most memorable times of your entire life. Attracting a Mail Order Bride with Syrup

If you have never travelled to the Ukraine you need to understand that they eat healthy. Unlike in America most food is prepared fresh and involves a tasty combination of “in season” fruits and vegetables. But because of that food preparation can take hours. Going to a restaurant involves 2-3 hours. This is all wonderful (after all you are on vacation) but sometimes I get the graving for my all night 7-11 Icee and Brownie.

So, if you want to look out for yourself and be a hit with your Mail Order Bride I have learned that
bringing certain food items will make you a big hit.

First, bring Hersheys Chocolate Bars. My translator (who had lived in the USA) had made contact with me prior to my leaving the USA (thank you LovedByHer.com) and made sure I was bringing approprirate clothing etc. for my meetings with the several women that I was going to meet. In our conversations she mentioned how she missed Hershey Candy Bars so I stocked up on a 24 pack of Hersheys Candy Bars (total cost $8.00). It won me big points with my translator, a few of the girls and was a nice gift for myself each evening. (While we are on food stuff don’t drink the water. Be sure to drink bottled water and skip the ice. This is particularly important in some of the smaller cities but I learned early on that Coke Lite (Diet Coke’s name for the rest of the world) was going to be my new best friend).

Second, Pancakes and Syrup. I started taking different food items with me. Pancakes are a BIG hit. I get the Wal-Mart extra fluffy pancakes and bring my own pan, syrup and spatula. (After syrup saturated my clothing on the first “pancake adventure” I learned to wrap the plastic bottles in Saran Wrap). At least once on each trip I will throw a pancake party and invite my favorite girl, translator and girls friends over for the evening. It makes me a hit for about $15.00.

Third, Brownies. I have had mixed review with brownies. They are my personal favorite so I continue to bring them along with a can of icing but mostly your ladies kids will love you for them. Also, don’t plan on having cooking pans so I pick up the disposable aluminum pans at Walmart that sell for like $1.00 for three of them.

I have also tried cornbread which was shunned like I was pedaling poison. Don’t get me wrong the food in the Ukraine is tasty and prepared beautifully but these little acts of thoughtfulness will earn you big points.

Waiting for my Mail Order Bride in the Kiev Airport

In September of 2007 I flew from USA to Kiev Ukraine for my second meeting with my Mail Order Bride. I had met her in June 2007 but this meeting was going to be just the two of us for a romantic week in Kiev.

As seems to be the case with USA flights ariving in KBP (Kiev Ukraine) Airport my flight was arriving at 9:00 a.m. and my soon to be fiancee would not be able to take the seven hour taxi ride from Zaporojie to Kiev so that she would arrive before 3:00 p.m.

Arriving in the Kiev Airport is like taking a step back in time. The planes all deboard onto the tarmack and you have to walk through the elements or ride a bus to get to the airport. When you clear immigration and customs you enter into the “main terminal” through a wooden double door that reminds me of something I built for the neighborhood fort when I was twelve.

Nevertheless, I was anxious to see my fiancee again and knowing she wouldn’t be there for several hours I pulled up a chair next to a pretty blonde waiting in the airport lounge. (I can’t possibly describe how primitive the airport lounge is other than to say I expect chickens, geese and donkeys to walk through the lounge at any time)

As luck would have it this girl also was a mail order bride. She was from Meltiopol and was engaged to a man from Switzerland. We talked in broken English with a lot of hand gestures and picture drawing for several hours. Apparently, she had been approved by the Swiss Government to immigrate but the Ukraine Government would not approve her daughter to immigrate with her (this despite the former husband giving his permission). Her fiancee’s flight had been changed and he was six hours late. Similarly, I travelled to the Ukraine on New Years Day, Jan 1, 2008 and found that the Ukraine Airlines just closes when they want regardless of scheduled passengers. I found this out the hard way when I went to make a plane change in Paris, France and found out that the Ukraine Airlines had given themselves the day off. Thank heavens I had my small son with me otherwise I would have had to spend the night in the airport until the Ukraine Airlines reopened. (They don’t have reciprocal agreements like most major western airlines).

Ukraine girls are the most wonderful women in the world. They rarely will approach a man but if you strike up a conversation with them they are warm, kind and generous with their time and experiences. More than once a young lady has helped me find a train, connection or grocery item while I was in the Ukraine. Nevertheless, I’m not recommending that you venture outside the Airport without an experienced translator. I have also been accosted by Ukraine men and fortunately I had an experienced translator from LovedByHer.com who came to my rescue.

In any regards I learned a lot that day and was engaged in a fierce game of international conversation (which means we were drawing pictures so each other would know what the other was saying) when my fiance aproached. As always she was beautiful and to my surprize slightly jealous of my intent conversation:-) For those of you that have never traveled to Russian or the Ukraine remember that the alphabet they use is nothing like the English alphabet. I have travelled in France, England, Germany, Mexico and half dozen other countries and I’m always able to make some words out. Don’t expect that while traveling in the Ukraine. One day on my trip I went out for my morning run and found myself lost just a mile from the flat I was staying in. Street names are unintelligible because they are either in Russian or Ukraine as is signs and other symbols you might rely on. But if you have a good translator your trip will be fun, fun, fun.

One other thing about the Ukraine Airport. When you are leaving you will see a counter where people are lined up having their bags wrapped in plastic and then steel bands put around the bags. This is because there is a lot of theft from travellers bags. The locals have their bags wrapped and secured this way so they don’t have to worry about theft. I have never done it and never had anything stolen but then I always travel with a heavy coat that I load up with anything that might be valuable in any regards.

Finally, when you get to the Kiev Airport keep your money deep in your pocket and try to spend as little time there alone as possible. Remember, it is a international airport in a third world country and western men can be spotted there as if you were wearing a neon sign.

Reasons American Men Marry Mail Order Brides

I don’t propose to speak for all American men but I do speak for myself and thousands of men that have chosen to avoid American women for the classy, educated, articulate, loving and family oriented women of the Ukraine and other countries.

This makes it difficult for these women to marry and have the happy family that they idealize. For example in the Ukraine there are 1.5 million more marrying age women than there are men. In addition, until recently Ukraine women completed their high school education by age 16-17 and college by 22-23 years of age. Hence by age 27-28 if a woman was not married she was considered a spinster. This coupled with the importance of family, shortage of available men and a poor economy drove many women to seek happiness outside of their country.

If you want to be happily married to a foreign bride then don’t mention your money, big home or anything else materialistic when you meet a foreign woman. Show her respect, kindness and love. If you do the small things you will win her love forever. I know these things because I’m 15 years older than my bride and never once has she given me any reason to doubt her love or loyalty to me. But then I realize I’m living the “dream” and I make sure she is living her dream by taking walks with her, holding her hand and spending time playing with our children. In exchange I’m married to a woman that my co-workers and friends drop their mouths open every time she walks in the room.
Finally, Homeland Security reported on the INS site that divorces with foreign brides are 20% and divorces between Americans marrying Americans is 52%.

The question should not be why so many American men marry foreign women but why any right thinking American man would not marry a foreign woman/mail order bride.

Arranged marriages have been around since Adam and Eve.  But mail order marriages grew during the  time that America was growing west.  Men would run adds in eastern papers advertising for women to join them in the west.  These mail order marriages resulted in thousands of unions during America’s western expansion.

Modernly, Mail Order Brides are typically foreign women that come to America to marry a man having met him on the internet and at least one face to face meeting (INS laws require one face to face meeting).  Homeland security reports (on the INS site) that Mail Order Brides have a divorce rate of 20% compared to American with American divorce rate of 52%.

Nevertheless, stigma still  attaches to the term:  Mail Order Bride.
