My beautiful Ukraine bride has been approved to immigrate to the USA. She is the woman I dreamt about ever since I was a little boy. She is beautiful, smart, college educated, family oriented, believes in the man being the patriarch of the family, Christian values and so why do I have this “pit” in my stomach?

Meeting and marrying a Mail Order Bride is no easy ordeal.

First you have to meet them online and so I have no doubt that using LovedByHer.com as my mail order bride marriage agency was one of the best decesions that I made. They helped me not only with the translation, airlines, travel, dating, meeting the family and fiancee visa application forms they were there when I was dumped the first time (yes guys I was dumped by a Ukraine woman so dont presume your birth place will win you a model) and helped me navigate the Ukraine traditions so I didn’t committ another cultural sin and get dumped twice. But then why the pit in my stomach?

Naysayers. They are everywhere and never shut up. In the beginning it was nice to hear from them because I wanted to make sure I had a certain amount of objectivity. I didn’t want my emotions getting the best of me and waking one evening finding I”m sending my Mail Order Bride “cash”.

But, quess what? My Mail Order Bride never ask for a dime. Even when she lost her job she never ask for a dime, even when she was walking four miles to see me she never ask for a dime (the taxi ride would have been $5 USD but she never ask for the fare) and finally at Christmas she not only didn’t ask for anything she bought me a piece of jewelry that clearly set her back some heavy cash. So with all this you would think the Naysayers would shut up. Wrong.

I understand the Naysayers have never been to the Ukraine and don’t understand the kindness of the people or understand that the ladies aren’t hung up on age like we are here in America (I’m 20+ years older than my fiancee). So because of this I give them credit for their ignorance but when they tried to say my Ukraine Fiancee might suffer from bi-polar (like my American x-woman/wife) I hired a Ukraine Psychologist and my fiancee passed both a MMPI and Kiersey compatability test. Did this shut up the naysayers? It didn’t.

When my Ukraine Mail Order Bride went to her interview with the consulate the “Naysayers” said you better verify with the consulate that she really attended the meeting and was really approved and yes I did and yes she was but even then the Naysayers kept on.

I understand where the naysayers come from because I read all the time about morons that respond to a spam email where the “woman” writes that she wants to marry the man (having never seen a picture) and love him “long time” and by the way, please send “cash”, for sick mother.

Of course the American Man does and then he professes to be shocked to find out he was scammed. Pleeaasssee. Duh!

I even pointed out to a guy the other day that the Russian “girl” who was writing him was writing from a USA registered domain and the email headers showed she was in Minnesota and not Russia. But he was sure she loved him. Idiot.

Finally, I had a business associate that after being engaged to a girl in the Ukraine sent her $3,000 to purchase first class airline tickets and never heard from the girl again. (I guess he never heard of e-tickets, non-refundable fares etc.)

And this is where the Naysayers have a toe hold. Even good people can be tempted and trust is a two way street.

You see, when you are in the Ukraine and you are dating these beautiful women it is like being in heaven. The fact that a girl of this beauty will even talk to you is beyond belief but then they linger on every word, date you like you are the President of the US and (at least in my case) come back to your place for a night cap or two or three:-) You will truly feel like you have died and gone to heaven. But trust is something that is built over time and even the best of marriage fall in and out of trust in the beginning. Here is a girl that has known you three weeks.

So as the time gets where she is suppose to get on a plane and come see you there is a knawing pit in her/your stomach. Will she get on that plane because after all she may love you but how much trust can she build in the 3-4 weeks that you spent with her.

Remember, that the consulate officer just followed the International Mail Order Brokerage Act (IMBRA) and handed her brochures about American men beating their wives and who to call if she gets beat up or has to seek a protective order (Thanks George Bush for making all of us American Men look like wife beaters! – NOT).

With those warnings fresh in her mind she has to be wondering what she is doing going to a foreign country where she doesn’t speak the language and the USA government warns women about violent American men that beat their wives.

In addiiton, your mail order bride is leaving everything that she knows and her emotional comfort zone to be with you. Even if America has more opportunity at what price must she pay for that opportunity. Beat, raped, killed, abandoned? I promise your Mail Order Bride has read the stories about Ukraine and Russian women that are forced into prostitution by their “husbands” and so can she trust you to be the man you have told her or is she flying into danger. (Remember she also has naysayers telling her not to trust you).

In addition, she is use to being able to support herself and now she will be dependent on you for clothing, food, toiletries and everything else because (until her immigration status changes) she can’t work. What if you are everything that you have said you are and in fact you are deeply in love with her but within the first 90 days (under K-1 immigration law the marriage must take place within 90 days or she must return to her country) you change your mind?

“Great sex baby but hit the road I have changed my mind!” Now what? She has given up her job, her flat and everything she has known to be cast aside by you. This is where the naysayers have their last chance at victory. Because surely your mail order bride is scared. After all her naysayers remind her of Anastasia King who was beaten and killed by an American Man.

Remember, these are all thoughts that the lady will go through and something you must be prepared to handle. Because in the end if the lady gets scared and doesn’t show up the naysayers win. They will swear that you were a victim of a scam from day one. They will forget that many American engagements never end in marriage and so on and so forth.

As for you the pit in your stomach becomes a ball and the ball develops into indigestion which leaves you eating ice cream at 2:00 a.m. counting the minutes until your Mail Order Bride Arrives.

For the naysayers do they ever shut up? You tell me.

For in my case my Ukraine fiancee has gone through hell and back to prove that she truly wants to spend her life with me. She has taken a MMPI, Kiersey compatability exam, English lessons, written or text every day for 13 months and never ask for a dime. If the naysayers continue their naysaying what they are doing becomes a self fullfilling prophecy because they will make your mail order bride feel unwelcome, unwanted and eventually she will leave . . .

So how do you shut up a naysayer? You tell me . . . .

Zaporozhye is a city in south-eastern Ukraine and the capital of Zaporizhia Oblast. It lies some 70 km from the Dnipropetrovsk city and is located on the banks of the Dnieper river. It was originally named Alexandrovsk, after the commander of the first Russian Army, Prince Alexander Golitsyn, but was renamed in 1921 to Zaporizhzhia. Zaporozhye is currently the sixth largest city in the Ukraine and has a population of 1,000,000 (2006).

If you are coming to Zaporojie Ukraine to propose to one of our beautiful Ukraine Models here is s charming way to set the stage.

First, leave the diamond engagement ring at home. Since, the marriage and wedding will have to take place in the USA (per USA immigration law – K1 Fiancee Visa) I always recommend that the special surprize of the diamond unveiling be done when your fiancee lands in the USA. For now pick up a modest diamond from a pawn shop or second hand jeweler and don’t be flashy. Remember, you came to meet a girl that will love you for who you are so don’t spoil the setting by trying to out spend yourself. Frankly, you lady isn’t going to care about your wealth.

Second, make it a romantic date. I recommend a day trip on one of the tour boats that cirle the Zaporojie Island. This ride can take from 2-5 hours depending on the tour you take and can include dinner, dancing and sight seeing. Taken at the right time of the year it can be quite romantic.

Be sure to bring a light jacket, some snacks and something to drink. (I do not recommend alchohol because you want to stand apart from your Ukraine competition . . . Notice many of the woman do not drink).

At the conclusion of your boat ride you should allow a couple of hours for your lady to freshen up. If you tell her ahead that you have something “special” that you want to ask her I promise she will come dressed to kill. Only a Ukraine woman knows how to dress in such a manner that all eyes will be upon you as a couple when she enters the room. Nothing trashy just classic beauty.

For dinner I have two recommendations. My favorite restaurant is on the Zaporojie Island and I like to arrange for violins and a table off to one side. But there are many other restaurants that are equally as good and I have written about them HERE.

Dating your Mail Order Bride on the Cheap while in the Ukraine . . .

When you come to the Ukraine there is much to see and do which is realatively inexpensive. Of course you will want to take your lady friend to the obligatory dinner date but there are some wonderful dates which are cheap dates and shouldn’t be overlooked. For example;

Bowling is a rich mans sport in the Ukraine. (Expensive for the average Ukraine citizen who may be only making $300 USD per month but a cheap date on western earnings. Bowling Alleys in the Ukraine charge by the hour and there are few bowling alleys. For example: Last count in Zaporojie (a city of 1 million) shown one bowling alley. Make your lady think you are a big spender and take her bowling.

Another favorite is a leisurely walk amongst street vendors. You can purchase anything you want from art to livestock from these street vendors. In fact flowers, fruit, vegetables, pots, pans, bread, cigarettes and coffee are routinely sold on the streets.

But, I’m a monument kind of guy and unfortunately many of the monuments reflecting the Russian history are being removed. In their place are wonderful nationalistic monuments reflecting events and people important to the Ukraine populace. You will find an aray of stone artwork dedicated to the Chernobyl accident, WWII (World War Two) and even monuments going back to the history of the Cossack Region.

Most cities also have a park area which is dedicated to the men and women that died in WWII. Kiev has probably the greatest of monuments to WWII taking up some reported 40 acres with a huge museum and a walking park that has remnants of WWII equipment strewn about. But even in Zaporojie there is a wonderful walking park that is dedicated to the heroes of WWII.

Remember that most of these Ukraine ladies will be delighted to hear your voice and just take a hand and hand walk with you. It is during those times they will get to know you most and that is truly what they are after.

Ask them about their country and their life and tell them how much you appreciate their spending time with you. Don’t worry about spending a lot of money on these girls and in fact be weary of any girl that wants to go “shopping” or ask you to purchase something for her. Both acts are uncharecteristic of the greatest majority of Ukraine women and violate the terms of service with LovedByHer.com . Ukraine Restaurant types, locations and food . . .

When I first started traveling to the Ukraine I was sure I was going to die from starvation. I had spent a lot of time in the Southern United States and was accustomed to deep fried everything and portions that a pack of wolves could survive on for weeks.

The Ukraine was quite different. The portions were small (the first time they brought my plate out I thought it was a joke and was glad I brought a 2 lb bag of M&M’s from the states).

What I learned is Ukraine food is prepared from scratch, after you order it and comes in healthy portions and beautiful presentations. Ukraine meals our served in several servings i.e. appetizer, meal, soup, salad, dessert, coffee etc. and the servings are not thrust on you in a hurried rush like in the states. As a result you feel quite full on much smaller portions. I have never left a restaurant feeling hungry and despite eating out daily never put on any weight when I’m in the Ukraine. (Unlike in the USA where I’m constantly struggling with my weight).

Restaurants in the Ukraine are the countries greatest secret. They are plentiful despite not having the landscape dotted with fast food restaurants like in the states. (Although, McDonalds has found its way into almost every major city with great popularity).

In Zaporojie you will find a different restaurant for everyones taste. My favorite’s are the restaurants on the island (any taxi driver can get you there) or the Park Ave Restaurant because of its extensive outdoor seating. But for romance you cant beat the riverside restaurant and the fine wine offered there.

The below restaurant is located in Zaporojie and has a reputation of being where the wealthy local men come to meet young women wanting to climb the social ladder

This restaurant is one of my favorites. It keeps late hours and is always full of people wanting to sit and chat. It is easy to make new friends at this restaurant and the food is excellent. The only draw back is the single bathroom at this restaurant. (Which is not unusual in the Ukraine just inconvenient for state side bladders:-)

This restaurant sits right on the river in Zap. It is well known and your lady will be very impressed with your knowledge and culinary skills if you take her there. Because the tables are right next to the river it requires a reservation. This restaurant will require your translator to call ahead and book your table 24-72 hours in advance.

But the view is breath taking and if going in June or July I promise this will be one of the most memorable culinary experiences of your life.

This restaurant below sits out on the Island. I’m pasting three pictures so you get a feel for the outdoor atmosphere. It is great fun and you will love it. However, depending on the time of the year the “bugs’ can be a nuisance so this should not be a restaurant you take your lady to on your first date.

I didn’t realize how many pictures I had of great restaurants in Zaporojie. There is also a great restaurant inside the government hotel in Melitopol. I’ll follow up with a second post as to the restaurant on the river that I’m recommending for romanctic fiancee proposals and more pictures on some of the restaurants on the Island.

Another thing you should consider if your K-1 Fiancee Visa is declined is a local Ukraine marriage on the Island at Zaporojie. It can make for a beautiful traditional wedding and even provides the wedding party a great outdoor celebration arena.

Ukraine/Russian Women work hard to keep a man happy

I’m 20+ years older than my fiancee. She is a tall Ukrainian blonde that looks like a model. For me I look every day my age and wish I could take back some of the “all nighters” I pulled for Corporate America over the last 30 years. But my fiancee doesn’t see the wrinkles in my face, bags under my eyes or the extra 20 lbs I found eating fast food lunches.

You see that is the beauty of a Ukraine woman they love their men for the person inside. Their unspoiled society doesn’t worship fast cars or big houses because they have never had those in their society. In fact my fiancee just text me and ask, “if I was happy”.

My Ukraine fiancee’s sole biggest concern is the happiness of the family. She works very hard at making sure the emotional needs of each member of the family are being met. Whether it be my physical needs or my sons self confidence needs she is always looking out for the family.

Americans marrying foreigners occuring more and more . . .

This year there will be 6,000-7,000 marriages by Americans to Foreigners. Americans are marrying foreigners more and more with each passing generation. Primarily, these are American men marrying foreign women and historically they were affluent men.

Modernly, the world has shrunk with the cost of a round trip ticket to the Ukraine running from $600 to $1300 for bargain airline shoppers. One can now spend 5-7 days in the Ukraine for just a few thousand dollars and meet the love of his life. Mail Order Brides come to the USA as friends and lovers. They are NOT looking for a green card or big riches but love, companionship and family. To often I see America men assume that simply because they were born in America that foreign women should immediately embrace them. Rarely do these men catch the prize that they seek in a Ukraine Model that will love and adore them.

Appositively, I have seen old, ugly, fat and balding men marry some of the most beautiful women in our agency because these men shared the same values of these beautiful Ukraine women.

My advise is to choose a woman that you want to write to. Add her to your favorites or drop her a line. If she is interested you will get an email back. Write her telling her about your hopes, your dreams your desires and what is important to you. If she shares those ideas, values and goals go and meet her. Mormonism and the Ukraine connection . . .

I grew up in Utah and was raised a Mormon. Somewhere in my adult life I lost contact with “the church” but never lost touch with some of the Mormon teachings. I believe that family is the most important thing in ones life (no success outside of the home can compensate for a failure within the home), I believe that fasting for two meals (once a month) is good for the body, I believe that not smoking and not drinking alchohol is prudent health advise. I also believe that showing thanks to a higher power acknowledges our fraility as humans and helps us be better people.

But, I could never accept that there was only one true prophet and he coincidently lived in SLC or that one most follow the “Bishop” because he is the emissary of God. Because of that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and myself parted ways many, many years ago.

However, recently the church teachings came back to me while visiting the Ukraine and no I wasn’t visited by two young men riding bicycles and wearing white shirts.

What I did notice is that despite a high unemployment rate, high alchoholism (by men) and poor living conditions that many Ukraine women worked very hard to put family first. I saw women that never prayed (under the Soviet rule) bow and thank God for the little that they had. I saw children take a piece of wood and using their imagination play for hours or spend days sliding down a snow covered hill surrounded by trash and filth. I saw families split a meager dinner and share with unexpected company and I met some of the most Christ like athesist the world has ever produced.

Because I was there to meet the love of my life I met many many women. But what I remember most was the children. They would come and try out their school taught English one at a time. Like all ESL/ELL (English as a Second Language/English Language Learners) they had diffulculty applying their school taught English to real world settings. But what these children did bring was a smile, a hand shake and Christ like qualities.

So isn’t it ironic that the most Christ like people I know come from a country where religion was discouraged? That the best Mormons I have ever known in following the teachings of Joseph Smith (Word of Wisdom, Family First) never heard of the man?

Finding mail-order brides who love kids . . . .

Recently a search term for men looking for mail order brides is for mail order brides who love kids. Although, highly individualized I have yet to meet a Ukraine or Russian woman who did not love kids.

Russian/Ukraine women are the strength in the relationship when it comes to children. They are typically the one that stays with the children after the marriage in the face of fatherly abandonment and regardless of the personal sacrifices or cost.

You must remember that for the majority of Russian/Ukraine women the believe that the greatest calling of all is raising children and being the mother who is at all the childs events and the biggest supportor of the childs activites.

More than once I have seen men “seal the deal” by introducing their children to their Ukraine girlfriend because these women immediately take a liking to the children and the children to the lady.

The biggest tears I have ever held back (ok, partially held back) was taking a man to the Kiev airport on his last day in Zaporojie. His fiancee had ask that he and his son come by her employment/restaurant. As the couple gave hugs and kisses goodbye to one another this Ukraine lady knelt and hugged the American mans 11 year old boy and said, “I see you soon my son.” This act directed at the child was so moving and so symbolic of her acceptance of the child as her own that I couldn’t help but tear up.

But this is only one of many times I have seen such beatiful women unconditionally accept the children of men as if those children were their own. In a Ukraine womens mind there is no greater love than that which you give a child.
