When dating a Urainian woman you will go through different levels of intimacy. This article is primarily written for when you first meet your lady.
First, remember you are a guest in their country. Respect their traditions and keep your geo-political opinions to yourself. For example, keep in mind that in the South we still say “bless you” when someone sneezes, sports addicts believe if they wear a certain shirt or dress a certain manner their team will continue to win . . . so remember this when I tell you that while in the Ukraine don’t whistle inside of a house and don’t sing outloud anywhere.
Second, dress up. Put a nice pair of slacks, nice dress shirt and new leather shoes ALL THE TIME. For the first trip don’t even take levi’s, t-shirts or that god awful Hawaiian shirt you call your “summer shirt”.

Third, keep your hands to yourself. Public signs of effection are considered poor behavior for tramps, prostitutes and loose women so be sure you open doors for your lady, push her chair under her at restaurants and remember to say please and thank you but DO NOT GRASP her hand OR PUT YOUR ARM AROUND her without asking first and definately not on the first date. (This will require self restraint because in the back of your mind you will be thinking that you have to rush things along because you are only going to be “in country” for 10-14 days. Trust me be a absolute gentlemen on the first date and it will built both a more stable relationship but the word will spread to other women about you sense of “class and style”).
Fourth, don’t mention anything about your job, big house or new car. Only you are impressed with your accumulation of materialistic things. These women are the real deal. They are looking for a husband that is loving, caring, loyal and shows them respect. Do these things and you will win them over. Talk about your money and you will turn them off.
Fifth, date women all within the same Oblast. If you are dating several women (which is what I recommend) be sure they are within an hour drive of where you are staying. That way if it doesn’t work out with one you have other options still open.

Six, pay for their travel expenses to come see you. If you do plan on dating women outside of your local city pay the $20 for them to ride a train/bus to come see you. It isn’t much money to you but a lot to them. I have even had a taxi drive 2-3 hours to pick them up and then have the taxi on “standby” so it could take them home in the event it didn’t work out. (It will cost you $200 – $300 for a taxi to take you from Zaporojie to Kiev Airport/train station). Remember you have a limited time in the Ukraine and if you waste your time traveling from city to city for a particular girl you will have wasted a lot of time. Try to concentrate on one Oblast (equivalent to a County here in the states) for girls you are going to date. The Ukraine is a very large country. Don’t underestimate the amount of time you will chew up traveling from city to city.
Seventh, hire a female translator that has lived in America. Gentlemen I can’t tell you how valuable this will be to your success. Not only the quality of the translations but the ability to bridge the gap bewteen cultures is vital to creating that bond early on. Plus a good translator is going to be able to feel the gap with conversation for both of you while obtaining information from your date. Little things like the girls favorite color, favoriate flower, type of movies she likes, family life, birthdates, childs name, educational level, natural wit . . . all these things make the difference between an excellent translator and a good translator.
Eighth, work with an agency that will provide private tours and romance tours.
