Christmas was wonderful this year. With the economic downturn here in the USA I was really strapped financially. (Broke would be a better word). But my Mail Order Bride (coming from the Ukraine) was use to the Ukraine tradition of children receiving one gift and none for the adults.
What my bride wanted was not fancy gifts but a chance to sit before a fire place on Christmas eve with a glass of wine. I was ecstatic. For a $10.00 bottle of red wine I was sitting in front of a fireplace holding my beautiful wife who was totally happy.
Again, my investment in a mail order bride had paid itself out. Thank you Ukraine.
p.s. The boat in the picture above is one of the many that run up and down the river in Zaporojie. It goes out every couple of hours (there are several) and tours range from 2-8 hours. Well worth the money. Bring your own wine and sandwiches.
