I talked to my Ukraine girlfriend today. It was so very good to hear her voice. She rated her English as an advanced beginner but I don’t think, “Hello Mike, How are you” as really being an advanced beginner when there is nothing else following it. (Thank heavens for the Lovedbyher.com translator who was there to translate).
I had been up watching the Iran Protestors most of the night and following their twits on #Iranelection who what I take is inside Iran keeping the rest of us updated. Anyway just watching some of these people going out knowing it might be their last time was very moving. It made me think that in the event I do get married how hard it must be for my girl to leave her family and come to America to be with me. What a sacrifice on her part. And then I know I will worry everytime that she leaves to visit her family if she will be safe. The world is such a bad place with so many bad people that last night watching the video of people crying Allah Akbar made me wonder if God is listening to all this what he is thinking.
Anyway, my girl friend and I talked about what we want in life, if we did get married what about having children (she wants 2 and I want 4) and about her continuing her education. I’m not rich but I’m fine if she doesn’t want to continue her University studies. But for her she tells me it is important for herself that she finish her bachelor degree and get her masters. She isn’t sure what she will do in America but she wants to be prepared to work in case the family needs it. (Wow what a difference from American chicks who just want to sit on their rear ends while the guy is working 2 jobs).
I’m more excited than ever to go and meet her. She sent me more pictures and she is more beautiful than ever. Such a gentle person and yet so strong. Hopefully, this is going to work out.
